Skate Sharpening Service
My name is Will, I'm originally from the states but I’ve played hockey recreationally around London for the last 9 years. I’m writing to see if the Tornados would be interested in regular skate sharpening. I know how difficult it is to get a decent sharpening done around here and to solve that problem for myself, I bought a Sparx skate sharpener in 2017 and have been grinding skates for different rec/uni teams around London ever since.
Skate sharpening costs £10 per pair, I can grind at 3/8”, 1/2”, 9/16”, 5/8” & 1/2” Flat Bottom V cut. I’m also in the process of adding a few more depth in either direction but that will take time to get here.
Depending on schedules, I’m happy to work with y’all in a way that makes the most sense for you, but two things I’ve done that seemed to work well:
1. I have a mobile set up & battery so I can drive out to your session, bring the sharpener and grind skates before your sessions for as many pairs as there is demand for. The easiest way of doing it is to pick a regular interval (Ex: Once a month).
2. Arrange a mass pick up & drop off where I take the all skates on one day after a session, grind all of them as needed and bring them back to one spot when they’re done.
If there’s a better arrangement for y’all, let me know what works, I’m happy to be flexible.
